The History of M.D.C.
Follow MDC on Tour and Download Albums
After a highly styling and way fun European tour in 2015, Millions of Dead Cops (M.D.C) returns as Millions of Dead Children, in honor of the (###) of Syrian children killed by war they have no making of. In 2015 the image of drowned toddler (*Name) brought the 'refugee crisis' to the public’s mind and souls for a brief moment; it was fashionable to flash his death over your facebook to show you cared... to be quickly replaced by the French flag as the tragedy Du jour.
M.D.C have always used the changeability of the name to highlight issues they care deeply about, and with this tour they hope to remind people that its the children who are the victims.
Dave Dictor’s, MDC’s lead singer has come out with a tell-all book about the American Hardcore Punk Scene in his Memiors For A Damaged Civilization on Manic D Press. Dave will be working the table and signing books so lets kick ass together, hug it out and save the world. And I will bring myself, with firm footing representing the bisexual, transgender, fluid, LGBTQIA+ community, genderfuck community as we continue to fight for justice and equality. This is how we roll and we move forward for sexual and racial freedoms.

Band Bio
MDC (Millions of Dead Cops) is an American punk rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 1981. The band was subsequently based in San Francisco, California, and are currently based in Portland, Oregon. Originally formed as The Stains before changing their name, the band also changed their name to a different initialism of MDC with every new record released. They play fast hardcore punk music espousing far-left sociopolitical ideals, with singer Dave Dictor expressing his animal rights, gay rights, transgender rights, pro-racial equality and anti-capitalist convictions.
Formed in late 1970s as The Stains and playing their first gig under this name in August 1980, MDC were one of three pioneering hardcore punk bands in Austin, Texas, in the early '80s, alongside The Dicks and Big Boys. These bands frequently played together and established the Austin hardcore scene. They released one single as the Stains in 1981, featuring a slower version of the future MDC song "John Wayne Was a Nazi" backed with "Born to Die".[1][2] Both songs were later released on the debut MDC album.
MDC's singer, Dave Dictor, returned with an entirely new backing line-up in 2000, which included Long Island musicians Matt Van Cura,(bass) Erik Mischo,(guitar) and John Soldo,(Drums). MDC released a new album, Magnus Dominus Corpus, in 2004. They took part in a 25th anniversary world tour in 2005, with an all-original lineup. Following the death of Mikey Donaldson in September 2007, MDC has been touring the U.S. and Europe extensively with the Dictor/Posner/Smith/Schvitz lineup.Recently, the band has been based in Portland, Oregon.
